Celebrating the Diagnostech Rebrand: Why We’ve Evolved and Why It Matters to You
Here at Diagnostech, we’ve been working on something exciting over the past few months – and now we’re finally ready to share the news with you all.
Diagnostech has rebranded!
We’ve decided to refresh our existing branding and digital presence while ensuring we continue to honour the legacy upon which our company was founded more than 22 years ago.
In doing so, we hope to better demonstrate our expertise and leadership in the remedial building consultancy space – particularly as it continues to change and evolve over time.
Here’s a sneak peek. So, what do you think?
In this article, we’re going to share with you everything you need to know about our rebrand, including:
- Why we chose now to rebrand
- What this means for you and the remedial building sector
- Who’s contributed to this evolution
- And so much more.
Let’s get started.
What can you expect from the new-look Diagnostech moving forward?
“For 22 years, we’ve prided ourselves on being the leaders in the remedial building industry. We intend to maintain that position in the industry going forward, and this rebrand helps to solidify our position and realign our brand with the high-quality work that we do for every client we deal with.” Dennis Stephenson | Founder & Managing Director of Diagnostech
Essentially, this rebrand has been about remaining true to ourselves and fully embracing our commitment to “Restoring Integrity”.
The first thing you’ll notice is that our entire digital presence has had a facelift.
While we’ve kept the original iconic colours that are synonymous with Diagnostech, our logo has been modernised to better suit our digital channels. Likewise, our website has been streamlined to make it much easier to understand exactly how we can help.
Check out the evolution of our logo.
We’ve also taken the time to refine our messaging and better articulate how we provide value to our clients and the wider remedial building sector:
Our Purpose
We’ve taken the opportunity to refine our original purpose into a single sentence that truly illustrates our commitment to our clients: to get the best outcome for our clients by delivering professional remedial building consultancy services with care and integrity.
Our Values
Like our purpose, our values have not changed in 22 years. It’s now simply easier to understand what guides every decision we make and every action we take as a business:
- Lead with integrity
- Knowledge first
- Practical approach
- Commitment throughout
- Relatable and accessible
Our Key Messaging Pillars
This is the messaging we use across all our communications. For us, these messages demonstrate our expertise, integrity and commitment to high-quality service delivery as a leader in the remedial building industry:
- What we do: make buildings better.
- How we do it: with our instinctive foresight, integrity and insight.
- Why we do it: because there is a need to focus on the remedial sector.
Our Value Proposition
This is the overarching benefit that we offer our clients: Restoring Integrity
So, how did Diagnostech get here?
Diagnostech was founded by Dennis Stephenson, who believed that:
- High-quality remedial building consultants shouldn’t be so difficult to come by.
- They should deliver what they promise and
- Provide a high-quality service every time.
Originally a building contractor for over 15 years, Dennis realised that he had a lot to offer as a remedial building consultant and subsequently founded Diagnostech from his own home in 2002.
At the time, many consulting firms had a small division (usually as an “afterthought” service) that took care of remedial consultancy.
However, Dennis chose to focus solely on remediation, and with an already stellar reputation as a contractor, he was able to leverage his network to get a foot in the door with his first few clients.
Now, 22 years later, Diagnostech has become a well-known remedial building consulting firm with a strong team and expert processes that enable us to provide high-quality remediation services with confidence and integrity.

Who has contributed to Diagnostech’s evolution over the years?
The Diagnostech that you see today – and the corresponding rebrand we’ve just completed – didn’t just happen overnight.
There have been several key team members involved in this evolution over the past 22 years, and we’re extremely proud of every one of them for the contributions they have made.
In particular, our Office Manager, Jo Huigens, who joined Diagnostech just 12 months in, has been instrumental in the growth and evolution of our company. In fact, it’s safe to say that we would not be the Diagnostech we are today without her tireless contributions.
Similarly, the addition of Tom Mackay 13 years ago and more recently becoming a Co-Director has seen an enormous amount of growth take place within our organisation.
His work in helping Diagnostech to navigate significant global events, such as the Global Financial Crisis and COVID-19, is one of the biggest reasons that we are still operating today.
When it comes to our recent rebrand, we can’t forget to acknowledge Ask Marketing who led the project, as well as the team at Sherry Design, who have all done incredible work to put together a refreshing new look that truly reflects Diagnostech in 2024 and beyond.
Why was now the best time for Diagnostech to rebrand?
Essentially, our team realised that we wanted to be as proud of our brand as we are of the work that we do for our clients each day.
When we reflect on our company’s history, we know that we’ve been leading the way in the remedial building industry for a long time now, but when we looked at our website and digital presence, we felt as if our brand didn’t reflect this.
What’s more, other organisations are now looking up to us, which means we didn’t want to have an outdated brand on display.
That’s when we decided that we needed something that’s well-aligned with our modern service offering and execution – while still honouring our legacy and original values.
Demonstrating trust in a changing industry
The introduction of the Design and Building Practitioners Act in 2020 has also had a drastic impact on the construction industry. Essentially, this Act imposes new obligations on design and building practitioners, focused on improving performance and output.
As part of this, the government tasked Equifax with developing an independent construction industry star-rating tool to assess building professionals, known as the iCIRT Build Star-rating.
This act has dramatically changed the way we work. As it stands, Diagnostech are the only consultants specialising in the remedial building sector with an iCIRT star rating.
Our Gold 4.5 star rating ranks us among some of the most trusted and respected building professionals in the industry – and we wanted our brand to reflect this trustworthiness.
How did we decide what elements of our brand needed a refresh?
Most of our rebranding efforts over the past few months have been informed by interviews with clients and other members of the remedial building sector.
Speaking to some of our clients, we came to understand how our brand looked from their point of view, how it stood up against our competitors and what components of the brand they thought needed refreshing.
We also compared our brand to other key players in the industry and analysed how well their brands reflected their service offerings.
Through this research, we were better able to understand how we should position ourselves moving forward, and what brand elements needed updating to truly reflect our position.
“We want those who have a remedial project that needs completing to think of us first. We want to be THE company that comes to mind – every time.” Jo Huigens | Office Manager at Diagnostech
Now, from humble beginnings, Diagnostech has become a true leader in the remedial building space.
At Diagnostech, we’re proud of our history, and we’re proud to have gone from strength to strength over the years to position ourselves as a remedial building industry leader.
While our growth has been slow, this has always been deliberate so that we could maintain our quality as we grew. Over the years, we’ve had various opportunities to scale fast, but we knew that would have come at a cost to our overall service delivery.
One thing that has never changed, however, is the high standards that have been set by Dennis from day one.
It’s never been our objective to be the biggest – only to be the best.
We believe that we have achieved that, and now we’re proud to have a brand that reflects this achievement as well.
