Together, we are building confidence in the Remedial Building Industry
Soon after the DBPA was introduced, the government realised that there was a need for operators within the construction industry to be able to demonstrate trustworthiness and adherence to compliance protocols to their potential clients.
As a result, Equifax were tasked with developing (in consultation with government and industry) and backing an independent construction industry star-rating tool to assess building professionals, known as the iCIRT Build Star-rating.
Thousands of public-and-private-sector data points are pulled together to determine the trustworthiness of building professionals and the projects constructed. Data is assessed, scored and weighted across six eligibility criteria – Capability, Conduct, Character, Capacity, Capital and Counterparties.
To receive a star-rating, businesses undergo a rigorous and independent review process to determine their capability, capacity, and willingness to deliver a safe, compliant, durable building outcome.
Essentially, this tool provides all participating consultants and contractors with a star-rating out of 5, based on several key performance indicators, including:
- financial stability,
- legal stability,
- governance, and
- their track record in the industry.
While obtaining an iCIRT rating is not compulsory for building professionals, it does help to provide you with a transparent overview of the companies and contractors that you can be confident in trusting with your remedial projects.
